Our new version is ready! :)

See: http://www.renderplus.com/pdf/download_trial.htm to download the new version.

This version will let you place a background behind, or instead of, the text, and position the PDF area on the background.

This allows you to create documents in some other program, save them as a raster image, and then use them for your 3D PDF document.

Also, the new margin control makes is easier to fill an entire page with the 3D PDF area if that is your desire.

See:

http://suwiki.org/suwiki/index.php?title=RPS_3D_PDF_Tutorial_-_Page_Layout

for the tutorial on how to use this feature. This should give you a good idea of how the 4 formats work.

Here are sample images of the 4 formats:

Full Page - no background image - no text
(uses full page for 3D model)
88

Text only - no background
(This is the current mode)
89

Background only - no text
(lets you place the image into a raster image of an existing document)
90

Background and text
(Lets you use a background image and insert both the text data and 3D model into an area)

New Version October 27th (J27)

Spinning Upside down

We have had complaints that sometimes clients who receive 3D PDF documents had trouble spinning the model. This is a problem with Adobe's default spin logic.

They sometimes wind up with the model upside down, which for models a ground or floor can be a problem

We have added an option which you limit the rotation so the user cannot go below your model.

This is very useful if your model is placed above a google earth image, or on a floor.
184
Go to Model options and select: Camera Position - above model base only.
Spinning speed

We have also made a change which slows the overall rotation a bit which make it less likely that clients will have problems.

Also, there have been some complaints that users cannot zoom in far enough on the model. Again, this was a limitation of Adobe's default zoom logic. we have changed the defaults to allow more reasonable zooms.

File Size

We are adding a setting to let you set the image compression level. This will create smalled PDF files if you allow lower quality and more compression.
185
Image quality is available from the Image Qualty button on the Model Options dialog.
75 is the default, lower numbers will make smaller PDF files, but at lower image quality. Larger numbers will improve the image quality, but create larger PDF files.

We posted a new version.

This allows you to set a background color in SketchUp and have the background color carried over into the 3D PDF file.
